Guzheng Virtuoso Dr. Lunlun Zou  Fellow of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Artist-in-Residence.    “Fishermen’s Joyous Return” An Ancient Tune, Cao Zheng & Zhu Yuzhi 1952 Version, Arranged By Li Wenping .    “Fishermen’s Joyous Return” is derived from a line in Wang Bo’s “Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng” from the Tang Dynasty: “Fishermen’s Joyous return, its echoes reach the shores of Pengli.” It is one of China’s top ten famous musical pieces, depicting the moving scene of fishermen returning home while singing under the glow of the evening clouds. The piece begins with a graceful and elegant melody and a gentle rhythm, illustrating a picture of the setting sun reflecting on vast, azure waves. It then progresses layer by layer based on the musical theme, reaching a climax. The music is lyrical and elegant, leading the audience into a scene from ancient times, allowing them to experience the serene and natural lifestyle of the ancients.
